Standing in The Shadows of Lev in March. The Americans are coming and the Canadians are going home
On this months SITSOL, we say welcome back and Bon Voyage to some of our favourite guests.
Gabriel Minnikin has been a mainstay of the show over the last few years and before returning home to Halifax, Nova Scotia will be doing his last UK radio session on 9th March. He’ll be bringing a couple of pals with him including Sam Lench (Samson & Delilah, Glad Eyes etc) so it looks like being a mighty fine, if slightly tearful session.
Brooklyn resident and genius singer/songwriter Rebecca Pronsky is playing at The Verge in Stalybridge on 29th March so it’s only natural for her to set the alarm to get over to ALL FM the following morning for a 9.o’clock start.
She’ll be accompanied by her guitarist/producer Rich Bennett, who not only plays some of the twangiest geetar ever but has well cool hair too.
30th March is a double guest bonanza as not only will Rich and Rebecca be in session but also Blind Atlas front man Ross Thompson will be playing a couple of songs for us.
Ross originally from Denver Colorado, settled in Manchester 5 or so years back and recently moved with Blind Atlas to some place called London. Ross is in town to play on 31 March at one of the gigs that Mog is curating at the Kings Arms and it’ll be great to have him back on the show.
It’s not all transatlantic guests on this months SITSOL though. On 16th March it’s our pleasure to welcome Little Sparrow for her first SITSOL session, she’s brilliant and has already done a session on Vicky’s Night Moves and recently played at 2 of Levenshulme’s finest establishments The Pod and The Klondyke. Keeping it local, there’s a strong possibility SITSOL will be doing an outside broadcast at Levenshulme Market on 23rd March too. (Though there are court orders in place to stop Mog venturing out of the studio on a Saturday morning).
